FARGO, N.D. – The Fargo Warriors Lacrosse Club’s 2013 winter clinic will kick-off Saturday with more than 40 area youths participating in two sessions, one for high-schoolers and one for second- through eighth-graders.
The winter clinic will run through mid-February and is hosted at the Metro Rec Center in Fargo. While Saturday’s practice will be the first of 12 sessions to be held during the clinic, there still is time for other interested youths to participate. Registration does not close until Jan. 9. … Click here to register.
During the clinic, both age groups will practice and have skills development on Wednesdays — 4 to 5:15 p.m. for high-schoolers and and 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. for second- through eighth-graders — and scrimmages on Saturdays, with the youngest group playing from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and the older group from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The sessions will be coached by former collegiate player Ben Fairbanks, who also has coached the Fargo Warriors Lacrosse Club’s spring competitive varsity team for the past two seasons. Players will receive an introduction into the fast-paced sport of lacrosse, which is the fastest growing prep sport in the country.
If you’re athlete is looking for something unique, or even if your athlete is looking for an off-season sport to compliment their training, lacrosse provides a challenging and exciting option.
