Fargo Warriors lose to Duluth 12-7, beat Proctor 16-3 at Davies High School

FARGO, N.D. – The Fargo Warriors Lacrosse Club’s high school team played their first game of the 2012 season on Saturday, April 21, against 9th-ranked and North Conference division leader Duluth.

The Duluth Chargers were playing their fourth game of the season; entering the contest versus the Warriors at two wins and one tie. Duluth exploded for nine first half goals, taking advantage of Fargo penalties with 5 power-play goals. The Warriors managed a goal shortly before halftime to make the halftime deficit 9-2. The Warriors came out strong in the third quarter and trimmed the margin to 10-6. However, Duluth managed to curb the momentum slide and salvaged a win 12-7.

Duluth went on to play in the Grand Cities Predators in Grand Forks, N.D., on Sunday where they triumphed over the Grand Forks 16-4.


The Fargo Warriors hosted Proctor, Minn., in the second Saturday game at Davies high school. This time it was the Warriors who bolted to a 9-1 halftime lead, extending the lead in the second half, and ultimately winning 16-3 over an undermanned Proctor team playing in its first season in the Minnesota Boys Scholastic Lacrosse Association.

Proctor visited Grand Cities on Sunday where the Predators beat them 17-8.

The Warriors were 1-14 in 2011 during their first season in the league, winning one game by one goal.

The Warriors are next in action Saturday and Sunday, April 28-29, in the Twin Cities where they will play No. 4-ranked St. Paul Henry-Sibley, No. 10-ranked Providence Academy and St. Michael-Albertville.
